🎤 AI Outcomes Podcast

Glad you're
here.

You caught my post about the AI Outcomes episode. Here is the whole conversation. Watch it, then take whichever next step fits.

The episode

AI Outcomes, with Ben Drakes.

My second time on the show, and the first of a standing segment every two weeks. We got into Home Depot putting AI in front of its stores, a safety test that broke into real companies, Klarna and Walmart taking the same technology in opposite directions, and the shadow AI your people are already using.

The short version

Four things worth stealing.

If you only have a minute, here is what the conversation came down to.

A pilot asks what the AI can do. A redraw asks what the job becomes. Home Depot shipped an associate app six weeks after ChatGPT and did not put a customer facing product out for another two years. That order was the decision.

You do not have to be a target. A safety evaluation invented a company to attack and the name belonged to a real registered domain. The two organizations Anthropic was able to reach had not noticed until they were told.

Same technology, opposite call. Klarna replaced 700 support people and then started hiring them back. Walmart redrew the work instead. The technology was never the variable.

78% of the people already using AI are on tools IT never approved. Where shadow AI is involved, IBM puts the added breach cost at about $670,000. A ban moves that number out of sight rather than down.

Where to next?

Where to go from here.

If the conversation landed, here are the two things most people want. Take whichever fits.
